The location is perfect for exploring the city's historic district on foot. The spacious room had beautiful period furniture and a delightful semi-private balcony where I enjoyed the evening wine and cheese reception. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout my stay.

The hot water supply was inconsistent during my visit.

The location is fantastic, with easy walking access to historic sites, shops, and restaurants. The back garden offers a peaceful retreat from the busy streets, making it a perfect spot to unwind after sightseeing.

The check-in process could be clearer to avoid confusion upon arrival.

The exterior of the property showed significant signs of neglect, from dirt accumulation to peeling paint, detracting from its overall appeal.

The room was lekker spacious with old-school vibes. We enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese – what a treat! Staff were sharp-sharp, always keen to help out. The location’s a dream for walking around and soaking in the city’s history.

However, I encountered a few bumps along the way. The A/C struggled to keep up with the heat, leading to discomfort in the living space during hotter moments, though they did provide a powerful fan to help alleviate the issue. The furnishings felt tired and not well-maintained, with a hard bed and oddly placed old pieces that could use better arrangement or updates. Also, while the breakfast offered several snacks, it failed to meet expectations of a sit-down experience—seating was limited to either the room or outside, which felt a bit constraining given the price point. Lastly, I was surprised by some pest issues. it was unsettling to find large bugs in the room, even if they were noted as common for the area.

Staying at the Jasmine House was a delight for our family of four, especially enjoying the complimentary snacks throughout the day. The courtyard was a lovely spot for relaxing while the kids played. We also loved that we could walk easily to popular spots nearby.

My kids wished the stairs to the courtyard were less tricky with their breakfast plates.

We had an amazing 7-night stay at The Jasmine House! The location was perfect, allowing us to easily explore downtown Charleston on foot. Our room, in the carriage house, was incredibly comfortable with a lovely semi-private veranda overlooking the courtyard. The complimentary continental breakfast was delightful, featuring hard boiled eggs, pastries, and fresh brewed coffee. Each evening, we enjoyed wine and charcuterie in the charming courtyard, which added a special touch to our stay. The staff, especially Carl, went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. It's definitely one of the best vacations we've ever had!

No downside except for some seasonal pollen on the outdoor seating.
