Outdoor showers were a bit inconvenient.

We had a fantastic stay at this private lodging. The cleanliness of the rooms, bathroom, and kitchen was impressive. The outdoor shower was a great touch for getting rid of sand. We loved the privacy of the backyard and the availability of hammocks. The host, Bernie, was excellent and provided us with cooking utensils and beach towels. The property itself was a tropical paradise, with a beautiful common area, outdoor cooking facilities, and friendly staff. We would definitely come back.

I had a wonderful experience at the Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging Guest House. Bernie and Maria were excellent hosts and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. the property was a peaceful oasis with beautiful plants, mountains, and the sound of crashing waves. the dorm room I stayed in was incredibly clean, and the sheets smelled wonderful. the photos on the website accurately represented the property. Bernie even recommended local spots for me to visit. I can't wait to book again and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

The location was perfect, just a minute walk to Sunset Beach. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and the outdoor shower was a nice touch. Bernie and his staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience in the most beautiful place in the world.

I had an incredible stay at this private lodging. Maria's communication before my arrival was excellent, and Bernie, the host, was absolutely fantastic. He had a great sense of humor and gave me valuable tips for the best coffee, delicious food, and the top spots for boadyboarding. The private room with an en suite bathroom was extremely comfortable, well worth the extra cost. The grounds were safe and beautiful, making it the most relaxing stay of my entire Hawaii adventure. I also appreciated the wonderful common areas that encouraged guest interaction, which was a huge plus for me. Bernie even provided all the necessary equipment for activities like hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling, free of charge. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, location, and the helpfulness of the staff made this stay truly exceptional.

He even walked us to the first break and showed us where to paddle out. The room had open windows on three sides, allowing us to fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. The property was well-decorated and had all the facilities we could possibly want. Located on the serene Northern peninsula, this hostel offers a relaxed atmosphere. The attentive host shares knowledge about surfing and the island. Beautiful house and gardens with fresh coconuts. Replenishing experience in the most beautiful place.

The location of this place was amazing! Just across the street from the beach and with a bus stop nearby, it was easy to get around. the host, Bernie, was fantastic. He gave great suggestions and even gave me rides to different places. the kitchen was fully equipped and had everything I needed. I loved the outdoor shower - it was such a unique experience!

The shared bathroom was not my preference. Having to go outside and down a shared corridor was inconvenient, especially during the night.
