The room at The James was comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The beds were great and the bathroom excellent. As a solo traveler, I felt the room was spacious enough for four adults. I also enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings at the reception. The staff was efficient and friendly, and the manager was especially polite and attentive. They resolved any issues I had right away.

This hotel is a great value for money with spacious rooms and nice new furniture, including two queen beds. The service and staff are very friendly, and basic amenities are all provided. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to downtown or uptown and close to great restaurants, eateries, and favorite sights of the city. Plus, they offer breakfast included with the room.

The hallway carpets and overall cleanliness may need improvement, but it's still a decent choice for a stay.

I had a fantastic stay at this luxurious hotel! The location was absolutely perfect - it was in the vibrant Gramercy area, close to everything I wanted to see and do. The hotel offered great amenities such as room service, dry cleaning, and housekeeping, which made my stay even more convenient. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and they even let me check out late, which was a huge help. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious, with all the necessary amenities like a mini-bar, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV. I felt very welcome and comfortable throughout my stay.

I absolutely loved my stay at this luxurious hotel. The location couldn't have been better as it was within walking distance to all the main tourist sites. It was so convenient to have multiple subway lines nearby, allowing me to easily explore the city. Plus, being close to Times Square and down 5th Avenue was simply amazing.

While the staff was quite stern and not very pleasing, I would recommend speaking to the managers directly if need be. However, this is a minor inconvenience and shouldn't deter you from staying at this wonderful hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at a hotel in a fabulous location. the staff were amazing and moved us to a better room when we had difficulties with the initial one. the suite-type room was perfect for my work needs and allowed me to have calls without disturbing my daughter. We were able to walk or take the subway all around the city, even into Brooklyn. I would gladly stay at the James again!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel facilities were outstanding. The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist me when my friend injured her leg. The hotel is located in a nice area, right across from Madison Square Park, and there are numerous restaurants of all price points nearby. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near Metro stations, making it easy to get around the city.

Rooms are spacious with large beds and good quality linens. Stylish lobby and rooms, with coffee and muffins available in the lobby. Great central location. Friendly and accommodating staff. Late check-out at 2pm is a wonderful perk.

Great central location with a quiet atmosphere. We loved our upgrade to a Kingsized room, which made our 5-night stay very memorable. All staff were attentive and made our stay enjoyable. we highly recommend this hotel.

The renovated room I stayed in was lovely, although it could use a few more lights and a towel rack in the bathroom. The central location of the hotel was perfect, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Happy Hour was a great addition, especially after a long day of exploring the city. The lobby had a welcoming atmosphere, and the room itself was spotless and quiet. I also appreciated the filtered tap water that could be ordered to the room for free. The comfortable beds, excellent bathroom, and great decor made for a very enjoyable stay.

I recently stayed at The James in the heart of Manhattan and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were impeccably clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Despite being located in a bustling area, I didn't hear any outside noise. The hotel's foyer is stunning and the staff made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The location is perfect, just a few blocks away from iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building and Times Square. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

The room size was excellent for a NYC hotel and the bed was very comfy. Loved the retro bar in the room. the location was also great - close to everything, allowing us to walk all over the city or easily use the subway.

The front desk staff was hit or miss, with some being helpful and friendly, but others needing a personality transplant. the room was noisy due to a large A/C unit from the building next door, which wasn't mentioned beforehand.
