Temperature control worked well, keeping the room comfortable. noise levels fluctuated; it was quiet at times but could become disruptive. The bathroom was large, yet cleanliness was lacking, with red stains spotted and a drain that backed up. The Kuerig coffee maker was a nice touch. Some light switches didn’t function properly, and the mismatched furnishings felt outdated. Staff were friendly and accommodating, but basic amenities like WiFi were absent for the entire stay.

The front desk staff barely acknowledged us, and when I asked for a third room key, the receptionist shot me a dirty look. Honestly, it felt really unwelcoming and just set the wrong tone.

This hotel is nestled in a quiet area yet just a short stroll from the bustling heart of the city with the Convention Center just a few steps away and plenty of great restaurants like Cajun Cookery and Briquette practically at your doorstep, making it so easy to dive into the local culture and cuisine, not to mention iconic spots like Bourbon Street and the Audubon Aquarium are under 2 km away while the staff were super friendly and the spacious room offered a relaxing retreat after a full day of exploration but the breakfast selection could use a bit more variety.

Amazing breakfast when it was stocked, and the location can’t be beaten, just steps from the streetcar. thin walls and occasional noise disruptions made sleep challenging. For the price, it felt like a mixed bag, charming yet needing some TLC. Would come back, but with tempered expectations.

The Mercantile Hotel features delightful decor and spacious, cozy rooms, complete with a record player. Its ideal location near the cruise ship terminal and a fantastic taco spot is a major plus. cleanliness issues and extra charges dampened the experience.

Noise carried easily from neighboring rooms. Housekeeping left something to be desired, with dirty items overlooked. While the hotel has potential, improvements in maintenance and cleanliness are essential for a truly enjoyable stay.

The bed was SO COMFY and the view from the room was amazing! Loved the included breakfast, especially the coffee. I'd go back for sure! The staff were super friendly too, but the breakfast options were less than I expected from the photos.
