We had a fantastic time of year to bring the whole family to The Smoke House Lodge. The rugged setting is perfect for outdoor activities, with scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and a 20-acre recreation area offering plenty of fun for kids and adults alike. The nearby South Cumberland State Recreation Area also provides opportunities for adventure, with its trails, waterfalls, and beautiful swimming holes. The lodge's proximity to attractions such as the Jack Daniels and George Dickle Distilleries, as well as the Monteagle Assembly's family-oriented summer sessions, made our family trip even more enjoyable.

For dads, it would be great to have more kid-friendly activities available for families with children.

We explored the South Cumberland State Recreation Area and hiked the scenic trails with breathtaking overlooks and cool waterfalls, perfect for adventure-seeking teens. The lodge's recreation area was awesome, offering a swimming pool, bike rentals, and lots of space for outdoor games and campfires. The brisk air and beautiful views made it a fantastic time for us to hang out and have fun.

We wished for more late-night activities for young party-goers, like organized bonfires or social events, to make the evenings even more lively and enjoyable for teens.

The hotel had a super cozy vibe with friendly staff and a restaurant that blew our minds with its antique-like decor. The peaceful outside area was just what we needed to unwind after a day out exploring - total Southern Mountain hospitality vibes. 🌄 Unfortunately, there was a slight odor in the room, but it wasn't a deal-breaker at all compared to all the good stuff we experienced.

The staff provides excellent service and the basic amenities are just what you need. The rooms have very comfortable beds, including 2 queen beds with a couch. And breakfast is included in the rate, which is a nice bonus.

The cabin was spacious and had a cozy fireplace, perfect for a romantic anniversary getaway. Despite a small issue with smoke from the fire, the front desk staff handled it well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I had a nice one-night stay and would recommend this place.

With plenty of parking and rooms on the main floor, there are no stairs to worry about. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome. Plus, there is so much to do here! We enjoyed swimming, biking, and hanging out, and the other guests were very nice. And let's not forget the highlight of our stay - the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. The music on Friday and Saturday night was fantastic! our experience at the lodge was excellent.
