This hotel is a hidden gem located along the coast of the remote Snaefellsjoekull peninsula. The rooms are clean and comfortable with beautiful views of either the majestic mountains or the endless sea. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the breakfast with fresh baked bread and unforgettable view in the sunshine is included in the nightly rate.

No major issues with this hotel, everything was perfect.

We had a great ocean view from our spacious, clean and comfortable double room. It was the perfect spot for spotting auroras, as we could even see them from our room! the hotel is just a few kilometers away from the national park, making it a convenient location for exploring the area. the staff at Fosshotel Hellnar were amazingly friendly and helpful, and the dining experience was fantastic. Dinner was delicious with great views, and breakfast was generous and varied. We also loved the beautiful scenery surrounding the hotel.

We stayed in a hotel that boasted of its beautiful surroundings. Located on the beach, it provided an excellent view of the ocean. Moreover, there was a small lake on the road in to the hotel, adding to the charm. To top it off, the hotel was in front of some amazing snow-capped mountains. The room was cosy and comfortable and had all the basic facilities.

What detracted from our experience was the poor breakfast offered at the hotel.

We got upgraded to a suite, staff were polite and helpful. Check-in was fast. Breakfast was best in Iceland. Location great for our plan. Beds super comfortable. Bathroom beautiful and functional.

Great potential, clean rooms, beautiful location. Unfortunately, I got a parking ticket after check-in even though I parked in plain view of reception. No room amenities available, but the stunning surroundings make up for it. I recommend this hotel.

The hotel had great complementary breakfast and dinner, which was perfect for the Christmas season. the location was fantastic, with a view of the majestic mountains and the sea. the hiking trails nearby were also a plus.

It would have been nice to have a designated area for drying clothes.

The room with ocean view was perfect. Fish soup and bread were incredible. Carrot cake was perfection. Staff made the wedding memorable. Stunning views from every window. Great staff, rooms, and experience. Lots to do in the area.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great location for exploring national park, delicious meals. Beautiful ocean view, warm room, exceptional dinner, enjoyable breakfast. Smart hotel, excellent breakfasts, stunning sunrises. Other Fosshotels less appealing, not the case here.

Stayed at a first-rate hotel in a stunning seaside location. the lobby was filled with sunlight and the restaurant served delicious food, especially the mussels. the staff at Primus cafe were friendly and we enjoyed the fish stew at the cliff cafe. the views from the trail walk to Arnastapi were absolutely breathtaking. Our Sea View room was lovely and we even managed to check in early thanks to the accommodating staff. Definitely worth a visit!

During our trip to Iceland, we stayed at Fosshotel Hellnar for a few nights. The hotel is well run and perfectly situated. The staff, who are professional and pleasant, went above and beyond for us on our wedding night, providing a complimentary bottle of champagne and arranging a beautiful table with a view. The location is fantastic, offering both ocean and glacier vistas. The hotel was quiet and cozy, with heated floors and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was substantial, including eggs and bacon. The friendly, English-speaking staff made our stay even more enjoyable. a great place to experience nature in a remote area.

The location of the hotel was fantastic, with beautiful views and a convenient spot in the middle of the Snæfellsness Peninsula. the staff was friendly and accommodating, providing clean rooms and amenities such as towels and body wash/shampoo. - We opted for the breakfast option and it was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. - We also took advantage of the picnic take-out option, which allowed us to enjoy a tasty lunch later in the day.

The room was uncomfortably cold and despite adjusting the heating multiple times, it didn't make a difference. It was also disappointing to learn that the heating was only in the washroom, and we had to keep the door open to get some warmth in the room, which resulted in unpleasant odors spreading throughout.
