I recently stayed at The Ark Lodge for a few nights and had a fantastic experience. The location was amazing, with a watering hole right outside where I could see a great variety of wildlife up close from my room or the lounge. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the food was delicious. The staff were also very friendly and made me feel welcome. The Aberdares, although a bit foggy during my visit, were truly stunning.

During our stay, we were absolutely amazed by the view of the water hole and salt lick. It was incredible to see so many animals and birds right from the comfort of our room. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, making us feel extremely welcome. The food at the hotel was delicious, and we enjoyed trying out the variety of options available.

One aspect that could have been improved was the communication regarding pick up and drop off at the Aberdare Country Club. Better communication about this would have been helpful for a smoother transition.

Stayed at a lodge in Aberdare National Park with stunning views of a watering hole. The property manager went above and beyond to help us navigate the challenging roads in the park and even provided a detailed road map. We had the privilege of seeing elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and other wildlife up close. The location in the Aberdare Mountains was truly amazing.

The location of the hotel was amazing! It was surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife. We were able to see a variety of animals during our stay, which made it a truly unforgettable experience. The food at the hotel was also very good. We enjoyed the tasty dishes and there was a wide selection to choose from.

There were a few negatives that we encountered during our weekend at this hotel. The rooms were quite small and lacked soundproofing.

The viewing decks provided great options for observing the wildlife, both indoors and outdoors. Despite some minor bathroom issues, the overall experience was wonderful. We highly recommend this hotel for a unique and memorable safari-like experience.

The cost of the daily excursions was quite steep as they were charged per car rather than per person. This made it expensive for couples like us to participate in day trips.

The wildlife viewing from the lounges at The Ark Lodge is incredible. With three floors of windows, you can watch animals interact in their natural habitat. The decor is cool and the staff is amazing. The food is tasty and there is a wide variety of dishes. The night safari is a must-do experience, where we saw lots of elephants and hyenas. It was a wonderful experience for us and our children.

The lodge offered multiple viewing decks, both indoors and outdoors, which provided a variety of options for guests. Additionally, the location of the lodge was wonderful, offering a unique break from the typical safari experience. Being able to view the waterhole and the animals without spending the whole day in a vehicle was a definite advantage.

This caused a great deal of disappointment and confusion. Furthermore, the early morning wake-up call and rushed breakfast also detracted from the overall experience.

It was a bit inconvenient that we had to check-in at a sister hotel about 15km away, which was not communicated to us in advance. This caused a delay in our plans and made our day run late.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with any requests. The food at the lodge was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every meal.

One downside was the lack of clear communication about pick up and drop off at the location. It would have been helpful to have received more information beforehand.

The hotel is like a cruise ship, with petite rooms and a lounge overlooking a waterhole. The walkway over the Salient offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, with sightings of elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and hyenas. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounges by the waterhole, observing the animals in their natural habitat. The food was great and the staff provided excellent service throughout our stay.
