I recently stayed at Avataar Hotel for my EBC trekking adventure and it was the perfect base. Mr. Jacz, the owner, was incredible and helped arrange everything from the trek to Kathmandu tours and Chitwan safari. The rooms were clean and had comfortable beds. The free room upgrade to the Executive Suite was a pleasant surprise, with a spacious room, bathtub, air conditioning, and a big comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and always willing to assist, even when we changed our plans multiple times. The location in the heart of Thamel was unbeatable.

The hotel was clean and had regular electricity and hot water supply, which was a great relief given the power and fuel supply problems in Kathmandu during the cold winter season. the staff was very helpful and accommodating, and the driver sent by the hotel was informative and made my arrival smooth.

The staff and waiters were not as friendly as one would expect in the hospitality industry. Indian guests may have difficulty with the food, as there was no Indian chef and only continental food was available.

Great Stay in Kathmandu! We recently stayed at a hotel in Thamel and had a fantastic time. the location was perfect, close to all the main attractions and restaurants. the staff were really friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to assist us. We loved the fact that the hotel had constant electricity, which was a huge relief compared to other hotels we've stayed in. the rooms were comfortable, with good lighting and insulation from the noise outside. the breakfast provided was delicious and a great start to the day.

A Few Minor Issues. Although we had a great stay, there were a few minor issues.

While the hotel had free wifi, the internet speed was frustratingly slow at times, hindering our ability to browse and connect with ease. Another issue we encountered was during the breakfast rush, when the restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed and struggled to get orders correct or deliver them consistently.

It's surrounded by plenty of shopping areas and restaurants, making it extremely convenient for tourists. The rooms on the higher floors offer nice views of the city, creating a pleasant ambiance. The staff provides excellent service and is very attentive to guests' needs.

The hotel itself was clean and modern, with comfortable beds and a rain shower in the bathroom. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my stay. I also appreciated the free pickup from the airport and the availability of cooking facilities. The breakfast offered a variety of options, both hot and cold, and I enjoyed the nice views from the hotel.

Great location in the center of Thamel, which made it easy to explore the area and do some last, minute shopping. the staff was friendly and welcoming, offering coffee upon arrival. the room was artistically lit and comfortable, with a spacious and comfortable bed.

One negative aspect was that the hotel did not respond to attempts to contact them about the airport pick, up, which caused some worry. the hotel's location in a side street could be a bit hard to find at first, but it was not a major issue.
