I stayed at Hotel Aalders for 4 nights in January. The staff, all fluent in English, were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the location was fantastic, right next to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, and the 'I Amsterdam' sign. It was also just a 2-minute walk from the tram and bus station. I rented bikes from the hotel for a day and they were in good condition. I highly recommend this hotel!
