The rooms were clean and spacious, with a nice garden out the back. the location was excellent, very central and close to shopping and dinner options. the staff were friendly and helpful.

The office hours were inconvenient as the hostel closes for a couple of hours during the day. This resulted in us being locked out for 2 hours upon arrival and not being able to leave our bags in storage the next day before our flight.

Great value for money and the private rooms at Verandahs were newly decorated, spacious and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that our room had a view of the harbour from the verandah. Having a rental car, it was ideal to be able to park right outside. Although a little way out of the city centre, the Ponsonby area was nice and it was still an easy stroll into the city centre, as long as you don't mind a bit of a walk.

Stayed for two nights at the lodge and had a great experience. The double room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, with clean and well-maintained shared bathrooms nearby. The check-in process was seamless and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, right next to Ponsonby Rd with its delicious cafes and restaurants. a pleasant stay with good amenities and a convenient location.

My stay at this Auckland lodge was absolutely fantastic. The beautiful and well-maintained old villa had spacious bedrooms with comfortable single beds and high ceilings. The view from the verandahs overlooking the park and downtown skyline was stunning. The kitchen was large and well-equipped. The staff, including the manager Cambell and Lorraine, were incredibly nice and helpful. The location was convenient with nearby supermarkets, shops, and restaurants. I highly recommend this lodge for its cleanliness, affordability, and amazing amenities.

My 3rd stay at Verandahs and it's like home away from home! Comfy beds, clean facilities, and friendly staff. The kitchen had everything I needed and the laundry room was clean. I loved the spacious lounge and the big backyard. The location is perfect, within walking distance of Ponsonby shops and restaurants, as well as the city center. Highly recommend this place!

This backpackers is perfectly located close to the city center and is easily accessible from the main highway. It's also just a short walk away from many bus lines, making it convenient to explore the city. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, offering a variety of dining and shopping options. The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and nice artwork on the walls. The bathrooms are well-maintained with hot showers. The staff are friendly and efficient, providing excellent service. a great place to stay with all the necessary facilities and a convenient location.

my second stay in auckland exceeded all expectations, but verandahs parkside lodge truly stood out. the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, even offering to find another place for me. the spacious rooms, victorian style, and lovely park view made it an unforgettable experience. highly recommended!

Parking could use improvement.

The location was perfect for exploring the city and in walking distance to great restaurants and shops. the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, offering complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day. the cleanliness of the facilities was impressive with clean bathrooms and a well-maintained kitchen.

The room was a bit chilly and could have used an extra blanket. the lack of hooks in the bathroom made it difficult to keep our towels and clothes off the floor.

I recently stayed at Verandahs Parkside Lodge for a few nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. the lodge in auckland i stayed at last time was nice, but Verandahs Parkside Lodge exceeded my expectations. the location was perfect with a short walk to town and a grocery store nearby. the rooms had vaulted ceilings and a heater to keep us warm, along with comfy blankets. the dining area was great for meeting other travelers and had everything we needed for cooking. i'll definitely stay here again.
