Oh, the oatmeal at Melfort House is like a hug from a Highland granny—warm, hearty, and utterly comforting. Add to that the stunning setting by Loch Melfort and the outstanding vegetarian dinner that earned a well, deserved 5, star rating.

A cheeky little hiccup—dining plans seemed hush, hush, but it all worked out deliciously. Plus, facing fellow breakfast buddies wasn't our cup of tea, though a minor quibble.

The place was absolutely stunning, the view of the lake and surrounding nature was top-notch, and the owner treated us like family - so welcoming and helpful. the garden area was the perfect spot for chilling out and enjoying the tranquility, and the leisure room was cozy with a great TV setup. the only bummer was not being informed beforehand about the communal dinner setup, but the delicious food and friendly company totally made up for it. We stayed at Melfort House for a restful and comfortable stay. The loch view room had a superb view over the gardens to the water. The spacious bedroom was well equipped and had a luxurious large bed. Matthew, our excellent host, met all our requests with a smile. The breakfast was extremely good with a variety of cereals/fruit and a cooked meal of our choice. The 4-course dinner was also excellent and good value for the quality of food. The location was superb with views over the sea loch, and the house itself was beautiful with a lovely garden.

The owners were away during my visit, but I was greeted by two friendly Californian girls who added a laid-back touch to the formal setting. The Garden room I stayed in was comfortable and clean, providing everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast served at the house was delicious, and the overall experience was truly enjoyable.
