I recently stayed at Orcades in Kirkwall for a few nights and had a great experience. The staff was always available and provided helpful advice. The hostel was one of the cleanest I've ever been to, with comfortable beds and warm rooms. The kitchen was well-appointed and close to big supermarkets for restocking. The sitting room was comfortable and there was even a communal lounge with a TV, DVD player, and bookcase for entertainment. I highly recommend Orcades for its welcoming staff, cleanliness, and convenient amenities.

The location was perfect, close to shops and takeaways but still quiet. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, with thoughtful amenities like a small coolbox and full-size kettle. The proximity to supermarkets and the town centre was convenient, and the free parking made it easy to access my car. The owners were friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated their flexibility with my late ferry departure. Will definitely stay here again!

The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable bunk beds and individual bed lights. The en-suite bathrooms are roomy and well-maintained. The friendly and helpful staff go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The well-stocked kitchen and spacious dining/lounge area provide all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay.

The cancellation policy could be more flexible.

I had a fantastic stay here. The room was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom and an extra blanket. The hotel facilities were great, with a spacious lounge room for meals and relaxation. The staff were really kind and accommodating. The location was ideal, as it was not far from the center of town and very close to supermarkets. Moreover, the hotel was conveniently located for those arriving on the Aberdeen ferry, which arrives at 11 pm.
