The location was perfect, nestled in the tranquil countryside just down by the lake. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The breakfast was delicious, with a good selection of options to choose from. We also appreciated the lovely bar and restaurant facilities, which provided a cozy and welcoming ambiance.

Fantastic little cottage, separate from the hotel with its own patio area and stunning views. Perfect stay with our dog, very dog-friendly place, she was welcome in the restaurant when we had breakfast and she got her own sausage! The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Great location for Skiddaw and Bassenwaite Lake Station. Superb food, especially the raspberry cheesecake. Cosy bar area with excellent real ales. Spacious room. Local staff provided updated information on the surrounding area.

Despite a small issue with the bathroom design, which lacked shelving and counterspace, we still found our stay to be exceptional. Christmas was amazing, we received a nice bottle of complimentary wine and Christmas crackers which made us feel like we were celebrating with family. The location was perfect, surrounded by nature and close to a beautiful lake perfect for a winter walk. Bed was really comfortable to snuggle up in the cold.

The food was expensive and lacked variety, especially for vegetarians. The room was small and outdated, with visible wear and tear.
