Upon arrival, expectations were high given the rating. The exterior screamed retro 60s, and while it was clean, it definitely lacked modern updates. Many nearby hotels appear to offer more for a similar price. Positives include a spacious room and exceptional breakfast with real scrambled eggs. Staff were genuinely helpful, often checking in via text—a nice touch. the shuttle service was a mess. The alternative arranged for us didn’t actually serve the property, forcing an inconvenient walk. noisy neighbors with barking dogs disrupted the peace. Staff friendliness varied; check-in was rocky. Communication about ongoing renovations would have been appreciated. Solid amenities but a few adjustments would go a long way.

I loved that this hotel was just a short shuttle ride away from downtown St Augustine making it super convenient to explore all the charming historic landmarks like Castillo de San Marcos and the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park while also enjoying delicious meals at nearby restaurants like Harry's Seafood Bar and Brisky's BBQ; plus, the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained with everything we needed for our stay but the toilet height could use some improvement for accessibility.

I loved how clean and welcoming the place was. Super affordable too! The shuttle to downtown was a lifesaver and the breakfast was yummy. The only bummer was the room had a musty dog smell mixed with bleach. Staff was awesome, and the pool area looked great. Would recommend it for pet lovers!

Arriving, we found our room near a noisy road and smelling of dog. The reception was unfriendly, and without warning, renovations began early the next morning. It’s frustrating when a place doesn’t match its online reputation. Disappointing overall.
