As a solo traveler, I loved the modern take on the traditional ryokan. The entry foyer and dining area were stunning, and the Japanese breakfast was cooked to perfection. The English-speaking staff were friendly and helpful.

The Japanese style room at this ryokan was spacious and tastefully designed, with a comfortable futon on a good thickness mat, making for a pleasant night's rest. I enjoyed the traditional Japanese atmosphere. The friendly staff provided an excellent service and were attentive to my needs. a wonderful experience. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Location is convenient as it is close to the shopping district and city center. A few restaurants nearby offer a taste of local food. The rooms are clean and maintain the old-style Japanese design, including tatami mats.

The hotel lacks soundproofing as other guests' noise can disrupt sleeping.

Nothing everything was great

Great value for the money - spacious and comfortable rooms, authentic ryokan experience. The location was perfect, within walking distance to restaurants and bike rental shop. The English-speaking staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The breakfast experience could have been better with more variety.

Conveniently located, clean, and with helpful staff that speak English and possibly German. Offers Japanese-style rooms with futons, and there are nearby restaurants and cafes for breakfast. Perfect for exploring the city without spending too much time in the hotel.

I stayed at Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei for a week and had a wonderful time. The staff were all fluent in English, including an American girl who had been in Kyoto for 8 years and spoke perfect Japanese. The in-house washing machine facilities were a big plus, and they offered both western and Japanese-style rooms. The location was great, within walking distance or a short cab ride from the shrines and shops. The staff were incredibly helpful in providing recommendations and information about the area. I will definitely be returning to this hotel.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and English-speaking. The room was gorgeous and spotless, with beautiful wood accents. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. The location was convenient, with easy access to main streets, subway, and tourist sights.

This hotel is a great value for money with its modern facilities and Japanese ryokan-style decoration. The staff is super friendly and the location is perfect, being close to the city center and major shopping areas with lots of restaurants and stores nearby. The breakfast, particularly the muesli, was delicious.

The authenticity of the rooms could be improved, but overall, this hotel is wonderful.

The hotel had a cozy and comfortable lobby area that was perfect to hang out in. the staff was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. the location was great, with key attractions and markets nearby. We also liked that there were some complementary cultural events organized by the staff that were both fun and interesting.

While the hotel was modern and beautiful, the bathtub in the room was quite tiny. It was uncomfortable to use and an inconvenience.
