The futons were insufficiently thick, and I wish the cabinets had been cleaned properly during our stay!!! The laundry setup could use clearer signage and instructions, which would make it less frustrating for guests!!!

I had a wonderful stay at Ishicho in Kyoto! The room was spacious, featuring beautiful tatami mats and comfortable futons that felt like sleeping on clouds. I loved the delicious breakfast, especially the morning buffet, which included a mix of Japanese and Western dishes. The onsen was a lovely touch, offering a perfect way to unwind after exploring the city. The staff were extremely helpful and even assisted us with a lost bag, making our stay feel extra special. Plus, the nearby bakery served delicious pastries that we enjoyed every morning.

Our trip was mainly for sightseeing, and we really loved the spacious Japanese-style room. It was not only beautifully decorated but also comfortable, especially the futons which made for a great night’s sleep. Being able to explore nearby attractions like the Heian Shrine and Nishiki Market, just a short walk away, added to our experience. I appreciated how helpful the staff were during our stay, always ready to assist even with the language barrier. It made the trip stress-free and enjoyable!

My recent stay in kyoto was made even better by the easy strolls to nearby attractions like the beautiful heian shrine and the scenic kamogawa river. i loved starting my mornings with a delightful breakfast and then stepping out to explore the city's rich culture and parks right from the hotel's doorstep.

The tatami rooms were spacious and lovely, providing a serene retreat after a day of exploring. Every morning, we enjoyed a scenic stroll along the Sakura-lined canals, while breakfast was a delightful spread of sushi and pickles that fueled our adventures. The staff went above and beyond to help us with our lost GoPro. their warmth made us feel right at home!

The Japanese-style room was spacious and beautiful, with futons that were surprisingly comfy for sleeping. It was nice having a small fridge and separate shower and toilet areas. The cleanliness was impressive, even the staff were seen meticulously cleaning. Plus, we got yukata robes, which were fun to wear. Just a heads up, we found the traditional bedding a bit tough on the back after 5 nights. The location was decent, with a peaceful vibe near Kamogawa river. Definitely feels authentic!

Just a perfect match for a weekend escape in Kyoto with very good value for money. The onsen was basic but clean and hot, which was great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Make sure to explore the nearby food options instead of just sticking to the dinners at the hotel.
