I was in Funchal for a week and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent and the location and views were breathtaking. I loved the electric scooters outside the entrance, it was a fun and convenient way to get around. The room I was upgraded to was amazing, with a spacious bathroom, comfortable beds, and a huge balcony for sunbathing. The customer service was exceptional and made my stay even better. Thank you Melia!

Noisy construction near pool area.

We stayed at a wonderful hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, offering a beautiful sea view. The hotel's spa was a great addition and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast options provided. The outdoor swimming pool and well-maintained gardens added to the pleasant atmosphere. The staff, from reception to restaurant and spa, were amazing, helpful. The location was perfect, allowing for a relaxing holiday while also providing easy access to the city and its services. There were also plenty of good restaurants nearby and a lovely promenade along the seafront.

The hotel had a magnificent view, top-notch breakfast, friendly staff, and clean rooms. The location was prime with nearby restaurants and shops.

For us, it was ideal.

The scenery was breathtaking and the fresh air was invigorating. We enjoyed lovely walks along the promenade and easily caught the bus into town. We particularly enjoyed the indoor pool as it was warm and pleasant to swim in. It was great having a wide variety of breakfast options each morning. the underground parking lot was also a bonus, with easy access right near our room.

The hotel needs updating as it feels dated. Our room was not as clean as we expected and had a lingering smell.

The hotel is nestled in a fantastic location, with stunning views of the sea and a sun-soaked atmosphere. Situated in the lively Lido area, there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, making it convenient for guests to explore and enjoy the local cuisine. Additionally, the hotel is just a short distance from the charming old town center, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the culture and history of the destination.

Some areas of the hotel may experience understaffing at times, leading to slight delays in service.

The value for money at Melia was excellent, the room was comfortable and the hotel's location was perfect. The staff were amazing, friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

Breakfast offerings could be improved with better quality food options.

This hotel provided exclusive amenities, such as an indoor swimming pool, sauna, outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sun terrace. the spa centre was the most luxurious I've ever experienced, and the massage was the perfect touch. the restaurant offered a varied, delicious buffet breakfast, and the staff provided the best in-room breakfast I've ever had. I loved the private facilities, which included garden areas, beach access and entertainment.

The one minor issue I had was with the TV channels, which weren't as varied as I expected. this was easily forgotten due to all the luxurious and exclusive amenities this hotel offered.

the staff were professional and friendly, and the hygiene measures throughout the hotel were impressive. the food, both for breakfast and dinner, was varied and of high quality. the pool area was clean and enjoyable, and our room was cozy with a great view. the location was ideal for exploring the island. it felt like staying with family in a beautiful and clean environment. I can't wait to go back!
