The room was clean and comfortable, although it lacked windows, which provided a sense of privacy. The shower featured great water pressure and plenty of hot water. the sound insulation was poor; I could hear conversations from the adjacent rooms. There was no breakfast available, and the ice machine was broken. A lovely touch was being able to sign the back of the door, adding to the nostalgic charm.

The decor brings that classic cowboy vibe, and it's very cozy. The staff makes you feel right at home and fixes problems fast.

Prices were a bit on the higher side, but it was worth it.

I loved how easy it was to find this place right off the freeway, and checking in was a breeze with the emailed code that let us into our cozy room, where the funky decor included a sofa made of cow horns and fun Western accents that added charm; it was fantastic to have the famous Big Texan Steakhouse just a few steps away, perfect for an unforgettable meal, and there are plenty of other attractions like the Starlight Ranch Event Center and Texas Air & Space Museum within a short drive, but while the shower was an interesting experience, I wish the overall luxury level was a bit higher.

When we checked into The Big Texan, we were greeted by an industrial fan blowing on a very damp carpet in our room. Despite running for hours, the carpet remained wet and we had to turn it off due to the noise. The neighboring dogs barking for an extended period added to the disappointing start. the location of the motel is excellent, with a charming western decor that adds to the ambiance. Being close to a fantastic restaurant and gift shop was a definite plus. The staff did offer a discount for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. The location was convenient, and the staff was helpful in addressing our concerns. The room itself felt somewhat unclean, with a dank carpet and worn bedding. Both my companion and I ended up with insect bites around our necks and faces, including a bite on my eyelid, which was quite concerning. Despite these issues, the room was a good size with comfortable beds, a functional fridge, and cute details like saloon-style doors. One of the major letdowns was the unfriendly receptionist who was not accommodating when we arrived an hour early. This lack of hospitality affected our overall experience. the thin walls between adjoining rooms allowed us to hear everything happening on the other side, impacting our privacy and comfort. while The Big Texan has its charms with its western town ambiance and unique features, there are significant areas that need improvement, especially in terms of cleanliness, customer service, and room maintenance. Though the experience had its ups and downs, there is room for enhancement to provide a more enjoyable stay.
