When we checked into The Big Texan, we were greeted by an industrial fan blowing on a very damp carpet in our room. Despite running for hours, the carpet remained wet and we had to turn it off due to the noise. The neighboring dogs barking for an extended period added to the disappointing start. the location of the motel is excellent, with a charming western decor that adds to the ambiance. Being close to a fantastic restaurant and gift shop was a definite plus. The staff did offer a discount for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. The location was convenient, and the staff was helpful in addressing our concerns. The room itself felt somewhat unclean, with a dank carpet and worn bedding. Both my companion and I ended up with insect bites around our necks and faces, including a bite on my eyelid, which was quite concerning. Despite these issues, the room was a good size with comfortable beds, a functional fridge, and cute details like saloon-style doors. One of the major letdowns was the unfriendly receptionist who was not accommodating when we arrived an hour early. This lack of hospitality affected our overall experience. the thin walls between adjoining rooms allowed us to hear everything happening on the other side, impacting our privacy and comfort. while The Big Texan has its charms with its western town ambiance and unique features, there are significant areas that need improvement, especially in terms of cleanliness, customer service, and room maintenance. Though the experience had its ups and downs, there is room for enhancement to provide a more enjoyable stay.

The room was cute but poorly maintained with non-working TV and safety hazards. The old west theme was fun, yet the dog park was unhygienic. Crystal provided great service, but the late-night clerk was unhelpful. Despite convenience, safety concerns and inadequate amenities left a lasting negative impression.

The only minor downside was the limited distance to some of the nearby attractions, such as the Comanche Trail Golf Complex and the American Quarter Horse Museum, which were slightly further away than expected. However, with the convenience of the motel's facilities, this was a small trade-off for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Our family loved the keyless/coded check-in, clean rooms and good hot shower. The beds were unusually comfortable and there were no bugs. The lights, plumbing, and Wi-Fi worked fine. We appreciated the continual fan that helped dampen the road noise. The wood shutters allowed us to block out outside light for a good night's sleep. The parking right below our 2nd-floor room was convenient. The western/Texana decor gave the place a fun and unique vibe. Plus, having a restaurant right across the parking lot was a huge bonus.

We felt so at home during our stay that we have no complaints at all.

I had a great stay at this hotel. It's conveniently located next to an amazing restaurant with a variety of dining options that I really enjoyed. The staff were accommodating and offered laundry services, which was a plus. The room amenities such as air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and flat-screen TV were great, and the free toiletries were appreciated. The leisure swimming pool was a highlight for me, and I appreciated the seasonal outdoor pool. The staff were friendly, and the 24-hour reception and 24-hour security were reassuring. I had a great experience.
