I loved my recent stay at the Gruene River Hotel & Retreat! The beautiful setting and tastefully decorated rooms were a highlight. The breakfast was great, with the chef being very helpful and friendly, and the cinnamon rolls were absolutely incredible. The stone walkway down to the river was private and peaceful, offering a serene escape. I highly recommend this hotel!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It was super close to everything we wanted to do, including the downtown Gruene historical district and the rivers. Our room had a beautiful view on a cliff overlooking the Guadalupe river. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The breakfast was delicious with freshly prepared hot dishes. The game area and library were a nice touch with unique games available for guests.

That our bathroom had a small drainage issue.

During our Christmas stay, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful and spacious room we stayed in. the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was large and well-maintained. Additionally, the breakfast buffet provided a great start to our day, offering a variety of delicious options. the hotel's location was also a key highlight, being within walking distance to local attractions and restaurants.

The only drawback of my stay was the bright light shining into my room from the exterior door. Although there was a blind, it didn't block out the light completely and affected my sleep.

The amenities were fantastic with a game area, pool table, shuffleboard, and even a video game. The buffet breakfast cooked by a chef was delicious and they also provided cookies during the day and a social hour in the evening. The staff was friendly and helpful.
