During my travel, I stayed at The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown as a convenient transit option. The hotel's prime location, just 1.9 km from Ogilvie Transportation Center and 250 meters from State/Lake, made it incredibly easy to access transportation hubs. being only 20 km from Midway International Airport, it provided seamless travel connections, allowing for a smooth and efficient stay in Chicago.

The suite I stayed in was in need of minor touch-ups, which is understandable as the hotel is in the early stages of renovations after being purchased from another chain. The room had a few small issues such as a leaking toilet, missing lamp knobs, a hanging cable box, and a gunked-up shower head with hair stuck to it.

Absolutely loved the prime location - smack dab in the middle of all the action in downtown Chicago with a spectacular river view. The staff, especially Chris, Remington, and Paul, were super friendly and gave top-notch recommendations for exploring the city. Room was decent, but being by the elevator was a bit annoying with the constant "ding" and wait times. 😬

The hotel offers large, comfortable rooms with fantastic views of the river and city, making the stay truly memorable. the convenient location allows for easy access to dining, shopping, and sightseeing options. However, improvements could be made in providing brighter bathroom lighting and additional bathroom amenities.

I chose this hotel for a business forum, attracted by its 16,000 square feet of fully renovated meeting spaces with inspiring river views. The state-of-the-art technology and distinct local flavor added a unique touch to our meetings.

The only service I missed for my work was a dedicated business center to handle urgent tasks efficiently.

Patio Dining - We had the most delightful evening at the hotel's patio dining area. The riverfront views were stunning, and the upscale décor created an inviting setting. It felt like dining in a secret garden nestled within the bustling city.

Limited Bar Options

Enjoyed our stay at The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown. Room 1116 had amazing views & a spacious bathroom. Bellhop Mark had great dining suggestions. Only downside was noise from elevator. High parking fees, but options nearby. a wonderful experience for our family adventures.

Upgraded room with river view, great location for tours, shopping, and eating. Reasonably priced restaurant and bar with comfortable outside seating. Comfy beds, well-equipped bathroom with easy-to-use shower.

Great value for money, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff treated us incredibly well, especially when they upgraded us to a room with two beds and higher floor to celebrate our son's graduation from Navy boot camp. The location was perfect, with breathtaking views of the city and river.

The food for breakfast could be better.
