I couldn't be happier with the value for money at The George Borrow Hotel. The room was spacious, light, and airy, with a nice view of the surrounding mountains. The hotel's location in the beautiful mountain countryside, with a gorge and waterfall at the bottom of the garden, was simply stunning. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making me feel right at home. The evening meal was perfect, and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The bar area had a cozy and friendly atmosphere, making it a great place to relax. Plus, the hotel's proximity to the Cambrian Way and a nearby bus stop made it convenient for my stay.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at this charming hotel. The owners were extremely accommodating and allowed us to securely park our motorbikes overnight. We were also able to enjoy watching the TT Races and World Rally Championship on the TV in the bar. The food at the hotel was delicious, and our room was spacious and comfortable.

One disappointment was that the hotel is located on a busy road, which was not depicted in the photos. the bathroom in our room was quite small and in need of refurbishment.

I had the most amazing experience at the George Borrow. The hotel is nestled in beautiful mountain countryside with stunning views of the Rheidol Gorge and a waterfall right in the backyard. I was in awe watching Red Kites fly and nest nearby. The family who runs the hotel is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The communication prior to my arrival was great and the warm welcome from the owner made me feel instantly comfortable. My room was cozy and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and a spacious shower room. The highlight of my stay was the delicious food at the restaurant. The meat pies and Sunday carvery were exceptional, and the breakfasts provided a perfect start to my day. The bar area had a cozy atmosphere, and I enjoyed chatting with the friendly locals. The hotel is also conveniently located near the Cambrian Way and a bus stop, which was ideal for exploring the area. I highly recommend the George Borrow for its comfortable rooms, outstanding food, and helpful owners. It truly exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to return.

had a fantastic time exploring the remote location of ponterwyd and stumbled upon this gem of a find. friendly locals, cozy rooms with great amenities, and a delicious breakfast. will definitely be returning!
