The room had everything we needed with nice touches like automated shutters and motion-activated night lights. The view faced west and overlooked Union Square and the skating rink, with a gorgeous Christmas tree and a beautiful view of Macy's with stunning lit wreaths in every window.

Room service made me sick for a number of days.

grand hyatt was a pleasant surprise. we didn't get the bay view room we booked, but the city view was nice. the lounge club access with free breakfast and snacks was a great bonus. clean room, comfy beds, and a convenient location in union square.

The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, surprising us with a complimentary room upgrade. The in-house dining was excellent, and we even received a welcome drink upon arrival. The room itself was beautiful and modern, with all the amenities we could ask for - from a mini-bar to a sitting area and even a kitchenette. We will definitely be coming back!

The Grand Hyatt at Union Square is a stylish hotel in a prime location for exploring the city. With convenient access to rideshare and public transportation options, it's perfect for solo travelers. The room was clean and had a great view of the city, even without upgrading to a room with a view. I loved the motion sensor light and the luggage storage service was a big help on my last day. The friendly staff, from the concierge to the bell hop, made me feel welcome and provided excellent service throughout my stay.

My recent budget stay in the heart of downtown was perfect. Being right by Union Square was incredible, as I could walk to museums, upscale restaurants and boutique shops. I also appreciated being so close to a BART station, which made it easy to travel between Bay Area cities and to the airport. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, and the staff offered top-notch service. The breakfast provided was delicious and filling, just what I needed for a day of walking. The view of the surrounding hills and water was beautiful from my room.

There was some confusion with billing that was frustrating to deal with.

I couldn't believe the incredible views from my high floor room at Grand Hyatt. The sparkling lights of the city at night and the breathtaking bay view during the day were simply stunning. Sleeping with the curtains open was a must!

Although the hotel is in a central area, there is an increase in homeless people around the downtown area, making it a bit unnerving to walk around at night.

We have stayed here before and have returned when we have SO MANY options. This hotel meets and exceeds our needs and expectations each time we stay. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Despite being a luxury hotel, we NEVER have felt any snobbery or anything of that kind.
